On Friday 6 January 2023, more than 20 representatives of the Leipzig community came together to found CSD Leipzig e.V. Christopher Street Day Leipzig (CSD Leipzig) has existed since 1992 and celebrated its 30th anniversary last year.

The colourful week of events has been organised for many years by a team of volunteers with the active support of the City of Leipzig. The major event was organised by Rosalinde Leipzig e.V.

As the largest Pride event in Eastern Germany (with the exception of Berlin), further organisational development was necessary, which is why we decided to found CSD Leipzig as an association. Rosalinde Leipzig remains closely associated with the new organisation.

In addition to adopting the association’s statutes and membership fee regulations, the founding members also elected a five-member founding board. Jasmin Gräwel, Sandra Kamphake, Georg Teichert, Sebastian Thiele and Marco Witt were elected to the board and will now implement the next steps, such as registration in the register of associations.

The tasks of the plenum as the organising team of Leipzig Pride remain unaffected by the founding of the association. A few formalities still need to be clarified before the association can begin its work. We ask all those who would like to support us as members of the association in the future to be patient! We will keep you up to date as soon as membership applications are available.
